Henry didn’t want to be different from his peers and was to young with his thoughts. He needed help and intervention much earlier on when he was 9 or 10 but he wasn’t autism diagnosed until aged 12 , and no help came with the diagnosis, And then anorexia doubled the complication , and less chance of recovery his story needs to be continually told for change, education and his positive memory. And why he should have gone on but couldn’t. Twitter If acute inpatient wards aren't suitable for people with BPD we need more specialist units. I see patients discharged despite their high risk of suicide or death by misadventure because an acute ward isn't 'suitable" for their presentation. People have and will continue to die. Phobe My boy with autism and anorexia needed specialist treatment , the hospital process, environment and plan made it much worse with trauma and they didn’t understand the anorexia behaviour, and no physiological or medication treatment he died 9 months after last discharge aged just 14.
