Anorexia is the devil reincarnated, it dwells on and ultimately in vulnerable but intelligent people and using their strong mind and body controls the environment around it. Anorexia will fight physicaly in the early stages of refeeding and work fast whilst everyone is slowly learning about it, to stop any form of help it laughs at hospitals nurses and paediatricians with limited training in ED who don’t understand the illness and it’s behaviour and think it is the person acting out not the illness, treatment is purely weight restoration and marzipan with nothing for the mind which needs to change, focus needs to be fixing the mind first. The emphasis needs to more on a serious psychological deadly illness and treated by such people, or in conjunction with the re feeding side which in my mind is the lesser of the two that way more urgency can be given, as opposed to they are struggling to eat which trivialises.
